FAQ’S

What is Soul Craft?
Soul Craft is a decentralized organization working within the field of embodied spirituality. At the core of its values are transformation, freedom, love, and self-empowerment. Soul Craft works with emotions, the body, shamanic tools, and ritual, and it acknowledges and respects the healing power of Eros.

The broad purpose of Soul Craft’s SSSEx (Level 1) training is to support adults of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, and spiritual inclinations in knowing and expressing their boundaries, navigating relationships, safely moving emotional energy, and accessing the transformative power of touch through breath, sound, and movement.

More in-depth information about Soul Craft can be found on the Soul Craft About page. And more specific information about the SSSEx (Level 1) training can be found on the Level 1 About page
What can I expect at my first Soul Craft event?
Be ready for a journey— but one that you can take at your own pace. While what you will experience in your first Soul Craft event is based on simple principles and techniques, it will likely elicit powerful experiences. Expect individual and group processes, fun time, deep emotional work, embodied practices and ceremonies, dance, and new insights! We encourage you to go at your own pace and remind you that you can choose to participate in or pass on any given activity. This is a no-judgment zone!
I’m interested in attending an Soul Craft event. Where do I start?
The first step is going to the trainings page and finding a Level 1 with a location and team that inspires you. Each Level 1 has a different organizer; you will find their contacts on each training page. Once you’ve chosen the training you want to attend, get in touch with the organizer, and they will tell you what the next steps are.
I am in a relationship. Should I attend Soul Craft Level 1 with my partner?
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer to this question, but we know from experience that attending Level 1 solo or with your partner will make for a different journey. If you have the opportunity, we recommend that you gift yourself both experiences. If you choose to attend with your partner, some of our seminars may provide discounts for couples—make sure to check with your organizer.

Regardless of your decision, if you are in a relationship, we highly encourage you to have a conversation with your partner about expectations, agreements, and boundaries prior to your participation in the event. If you are not familiar with these kinds of conversations, please let your organizer know so they can support you.
Are Soul Craft events for everyone?
Almost! We work hard to make Soul Craft events inclusive and welcoming for all; however, there are a couple of requirements that are set for the safety and well-being of all participants. First, to attend an Soul Craft event, you must be over 21 years old. You also need to be in good physical and mental health. Soul Craft events involve movement, stretching, and breathing exercises that require a solid base of physical health. Our events also delve into deep emotional work and experiences, which can bring up sensitive memories or past traumas. While these experiences are often transformative, they are best engaged from a place of stable mental health.

Soul Craft event intake forms include questions about your physical and mental health, and we ask that you complete these forms with honesty. If you have any doubts, please share them with your event organizer so they can discuss the best options for your individual situation.

While those above are the most strict requirements, we would also say that ISTA is for you if you care about your personal transformation, find resonance with embodiment and spirituality, and believe that sexuality and emotions are part of your evolutionary journey.

If you're unsure whether Soul Craft is a match, we welcome you to contact info@ista.life for any questions.
How many people attend Soul Craft events?
The size of Soul Craft groups has grown significantly over the years, and there are differences depending on location and time of the year. As of 2023, you can expect an Soul Craft training to involve between twenty and sixty or more participants. If the group size is important to you, please contact the organizer of your training; they will be happy to support you.
How are Soul Craft faculty trained?
Soul Craft faculty come from a variety of cultural and spiritual backgrounds. To be considered an apprentice (the prior phase to becoming an Soul Craft faculty member), someone needs to have extensive experience facilitating groups. After becoming faculty, we continue upgrading and educating our staff through our Continuous Education program.

At the moment, our in-house training is focused on trauma awareness, diversity, and inclusion.
